Clinton: Shared Prosperity Should Replace 'On Your Own' Society
MANCHESTER, N.H. (AP) -- Presidential hopeful Hillary Rodham Clinton outlined a broad economic vision Tuesday, saying it's time to replace an "on your own" society with one based on shared responsibility and prosperity.
The Democratic senator said what the Bush administration touts as an ownership society really is an "on your own" society that has widened the gap between rich and poor.
"I prefer a 'we're all in it together' society," she said. "I believe our government can once again work for all Americans. It can promote the great American tradition of opportunity for all and special privileges for none."

In an appeal to those who struggle
With the concept of achievement
Through personal effort and responsibility
The liberality of the government
Is the answer given by the candidate.
Why is it that socialism holds such strong appeal
To the self-styled intellectual few
Who spend their lives living from the public dole
As politicians with a leftward view
Rather than earning an honest living?
It isn't as though they themselves are suffering
From poverty or discrimination.
In fact they are often wealthy from their
Fleecing of the people of this nation
By manipulating the power of their positions of trust.
Perhaps that is the reason for their economic theory.
By placing greater control of the wealth of our nation
In the hands of bureaucratic bumblers it is easier
For their skillful skimming inclination
To be exercised upon the people.

I enjoy reading your political opinions. Doesn't she do a good job dressing around her features? Her hair is much better now and she has introduced pants into Congress -- probably more to cover up her fat ankles than to make a feminist statement but hey -- other women are following suit.
My dad thinks Fred Thompson will be the next President. He's from the Panhandle, ya know. Me? I think the Bush/Clinton dynasty has a lot of powerful hitters behind it. More to keep the secrets all locked up?
What Hillary wants is socialism. I remember some rough times when I was a child In the Texas Panhandle.My parents both had jobs, and my sisters and I cleaned the house,washed, starched and hung out clothes,Then we sprinkled the clothes down and ironed them.We chopped cotton pulled bowls too. Wee were all in it together too! But we worked hard and didn't complain.For some reason, we thought that was part of life. That my friend was In the good ole days...

Oh sure... great as long as they don't touch their millions. I can just see Hillary and John Edwards et al sharing their wealth with the poor. Never gonna happen.
