Morning Ritual

In goes the water,
Then come the grounds.
I'm listening to
The percolator sounds.

I smell the aroma
Filling the air,
Then sip the first cup
As I sit in my chair.

I take a deep breath
And let out a sigh,
I guess I'll drink coffee
'Til the day that I die.
