It's coming together...

The tide is turning
And the people yearning
For our man Fred
To shake his head
And accept the run
Which won't be fun
But is his fate
In oh-eight!

Perhaps the real question should be: Is bad poetry better than none?

Let's try again...

The people are grumbling
That we need a leader
To come to the head of the pack.
They're sick of hearing
The same double-dealing

It's time for Fred Thompson
To make it official
By announcing his bid for the race.
Based on the level
Of what he's against
He'll surely start in first place.

Oh, well. You get the picture...

But he's still not totally committed... though I'm not sure yet who I'll vote for, and though I'm not wondering if Giuliani isn't the strongest on the terror issue. I know there are some social issues conservatives don't agree with him on, but as a talk show host said... those issues will be moot, if we're bombed from here to eternity.

We shall see...
2nd poem was not too shabby...

You're too kind, Incognito.

Social issues speak to the root values of a man. To me, Giuliani is too much like the Dems -- his position changes based on the current direction of the polling wind. Thompson has made numerous very strong statements regarding the terror issue. I think he has no fear of offending the PC crowd by going after them whenever and whereever is necessary. He is for strong borders -- a critical component of securing our country against terrorists. And I believe he will give the generals what they need to prosecute the war in Iraq to a successful conclusion. It will be interesting to see how the race shapes up as we move forward.
