New Picture

Hopefully some of you out there have noticed the new picture in my header. It is compliments of the creative talents of Hillbilly Willy. If I understand correctly, he merged the poet leaning against the fence into the background scene. I appreciate him sharing it with me. I don't know if he's planning to enter the market as a graphic artist, but you never know. Y'all drop by and give him a shout.

I noticed your new header the other day, Chris, and really like it. I keep up with your blog all the time, but just haven't commented. At least in a while. I don't remember if I ever have or not.

We're coming out to Texas (to Abilene) to see my mom over Thanksgiving, so I'm really happy about that. Coming HOME!

On the way out, we're stopping in Dallas to spend the night with Tom's daughter and then on the way back we're going through Austin (Leander) to visit with growing up friends from Abernathy. They are always a lot of fun.

Cheers & Blessings to you all today!

I have been out for a little while, but I really like the picture. Very sharp. Hillbilly did a great job.

Hillbilly is a genious. I was surprised at the word Las Vegas in your story??Why is that ?Am I thinking modern versus another time??

i beati: Las Vegas, New Mexico, was truly a wild-and-wooly western town in every sense of the word. It grew up on the old Santa Fe Trail and was a hangout for many outlaws and other interesting characters. It was frequented by Doc Holiday, Wyatt Earp, and other famous individuals. Kit Carson was there frequently as well. It is still a very interesting place to visit -- especially "old town."
